Being on the golf course is my happy place. Except at Old Hickory, I think it was on the porch after golf!
Twelve players ventured to Woodbridge to play on Sunday. It was hot but tolerable. A beverage cart was making rounds, so that helped to keep us cool.
The course was challenging. There were a lot of bunkers, creeks, and woods. I found them all and got a very scenic view of the course from those vantage points! The rolling hills and greens made it tough. On many holes the sides of the fairways were mounded, so rolls and bounces often landed in the fairway ... just not mine.
It was a great group, and we had a lot of fun. We wish a fond farewell to Jen H. and her husband as they move back to Detroit. We hope she’ll play with WCGA when she travels to DC for work.
There’s still plenty of golf to play and some fun social events coming up. Autumn officially begins this week, so that means cooler temperatures. Hope to see you on the course!
