WCGA kicks off 2019 season

WCGA had a great kick-off this past Monday on the Hill with a packed room of over 100 House and Senate staffers (& government relations professionals) in the Capitol Building to also celebrate our 20th anniversary. And we appreciate Tiger winning the Masters to get us all ready for golf season!

We are off to a strong start for the 2019 season and look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events:

National Golf Day on the Hill:  May 1 WE ARE GOLF, a coalition of golf's leading organizations, will host their annual National Golf Day. On May 1st, stop by the Rayburn Foyer during the day to check out some of the golf exhibits like swing analysis or get a short tutorial from PGA pro.  Learn more at WE ARE GOLF.

Get Golf Ready Beginner or Intermediate Classes: May 4-June 8 Join other WCGA members who are “non-golfers” or just returning to the sport for a six-week series of small group lessons with an experienced instructor – for the last class, you’ll be playing on the course. For $169, you get six weeks of lessons with each class lasting 60 minutes. We’re also running an intermediate class if you’ve been playing for a bit but want to get a refresher on the basics to improve your game.

Naval Academy Golf Outing: May 4 This is always a highlight of the season. Please join us on this Saturday afternoon with tee times starting at 12:30pm for 18 holes with a cart for $85. Friends and family are welcome to join us. Per usual, we will do crabs by the Bay afterwards for those who can stay. As you may know, the Annapolis Naval Academy course is a private club and always in excellent condition. Look forward to another great outing.

League Play starts May 6 – Slightly different format this year.  We are pre-paying for a series of 4 weeks at a time.  Join our first group today!

It's also membership renewal time for WCGA, and if you haven’t renewed, you can still join for the 2019 WCGA season to enjoy the benefits of membership including:

• Access to weekly leagues; • Invite to free annual Hill lunch and PGA evening reception; • Opportunity to take small-group, all-women’s clinics for all skill-levels, including six week beginner class; • Discounts to DCGolf events; • Invites to private golf events and courses; • Ability to get official USGA handicap; and
