Back in the USA! Over August recess, WCGA organized a trip for 15 women at Rosapenna Golf Resort outside Donegal, Ireland.
Rosapenna is located on Sheephaven Bay, and as we opened our hotel rooms, we were greeted with balconies and views of the beach. The group enjoyed the dinners at the resort, which included delicious lobster from the bay. We also enjoyed the lovely Irish bartenders who were happy to share samples of some Irish whiskies.
We played three memorable courses:
- Old Tom Morris Links designed by Old Tom Morris of St. Andrews in 1893
- Sandy Hills Links laid out by Pat Ruddy of The European Club fame
- St Patrick's Links by Tom Doak - ranked by Golf Magazine as 49 in the world!
For many of the women, it was the first time playing with a caddie who magically were able to find our balls in the tall grass on the links courses. As we had women of different skill levels, as back in DC, playing best ball was always an option.
It’s impossible to capture how stunning this place was in photos. Such a fun trip with incredible women.
